What more could we ask for – lovely home away from home. Well-stocked kitchen, beautiful interior and furnishings and enough windows to bring the outside in. Privacy, wooded location; everything we have longed to find. Saturday found us at Millers [Miller’s bakery in the Amish community]. Ah – apple fritters right from the oven and still warm – melt in your mouth! Returned for a walk to the field to enjoy the view and explore. Wondering who built the log barn and how long ago did they settle here. Saw so many butterflies and a box turtle. Sunday morning awoke early to nature’s alarm clock . . . “Gobble, gobble, gobble”. Looked out the window and saw a “Tom” turkey calling for a mate while he fanned his tail. Joining in his quest were three does grazing right in front of the window. Renewed & refreshed. Sadly, we prepare to depart – longing to return.
